About Sara Platt

Platt

Sara Platt’s interest in fashion started as a child, when she sketched gowns and sewed outfits for her dolls.

At college, she took merchandising classes, but graduated with a bachelors in business administration.

She spent a summer in Washington D.C., as a Congressional Intern, but decided to focus back on fashion by writing an intern dress code and dressing others for events and camera time.

Following graduation, I moved to London, to work for the financial institutions Lehman Brothers and Duetsche Bank. While abroad, she become certified in International Business Studies at Cambridge.

Platt spent 15 months in London, where the highlight was visiting large fashion markets with thousands of vendors trying to get start labels.

When she moved to Chicago, she started attending buyers markets to prepare for her own store. After a year and a half of saving and studying, she moved back to Quincy and opened a boutique — The Sweet Apricot Shop — which offers missy and young comtemporary clothing.
