Dave Herrero

Dave Herrero and his band will take the stage Friday, Aug. 26, for Blues in the District at Washington Park.

Herrero is a seasoned professional who has been blessed to play some very exclusive shows including the 2009 Chicago Blues Fest, Old Town Blues Festival, Sun Prairie Blues Festival and Springfield Blues Festival, just to name a few. He began playing professionally at the tender age of 20 in Jacksonville, Fla. Initially, he was largely influenced by Muddy Waters, Albert King and the Fabulous Thunderbirds, which prompted his move to Austin, Texas. He has since located to Chicago.

The food vendor will be Meals Plus serving rib-eye steak, grilled pork tenderloin and hamburger sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, soda and water. Proceeds benefit the Meals on Wheels program in Quincy.
