Steel Magnolia to play in Quincy
HOLLER & SWALLER Saloon owner Kevin Brashears says he’s known Joshua Scott Jones and Meghan Linsey of the popular country duo Steel Magnolia “since before they were famous.”
Steel Magnolia appears at the Third and Hampshire bar in Quincy on Sunday, March 10.
Steel Magnolia won season two of the TV show Can You Duet? They’ve had several smash singles and have toured with the likes of Reba McEntire and Brad Paisley.
The duo’s rendition of “Keep On Lovin’ You” broke through as the highest charting debut single by a coed duo in Billboard history and climbed all the way to No. 5 on the Billboard Country Charts.
Brashears says he met Jones and Linsey in Nashville and became friends.
“If you look at the video, you’ll see a shot where there is a refrigerator in the background, and there’s a photo of my two girls on the fridge,” Brashears says. “It’s the same picture of them that hangs in the bar.”
See for yourself (it’s near the start of the video).
Tickets for the show are $15 for general admission and $15 for VIP.
“You’ll be able to see them up close,” Brashears says. “It’s a lot better than watching it on a big screen while sitting in the nose bleed section.”
