About Don Van Dyke

Van Dyke

Don Van Dyke has lived in the Quincy area all his life and is the Pharmacy IS Coordinator at Blessing Hospital.

He enjoys eating, drinking and supporting and playing live local music. He has played bass in several local bands off and on over the last 15 years.

His music collection contains all genres of music from Abba to Zac Brown Band, from Alice Cooper to Stevie Wonder, from the Beatles and the Stones to Metallica and Tool, from Al Green to Alabama, from Chuck Berry to Katy Perry, Black Sabbath to Bruno Mars, from Roulette to Foxx to Shattercane, and on and on.

His first concert was the Statler Brothers and Ricky Skaggs at WIU and the last concert he attended was Tool at the Peoria Civic Center.  The first albums he remembers listening to were by the Beatles, the Beach Boys, or Ike and Tina Turner.  The last album he bought was “Sweet Creatures” by the Crash Street Kids.

His personal hero is his uncle Donnie who taught him three very important things:

1) Family is first, no matter what.
2) Anything is possible as long as you have duct tape.
3) There is no one cooler than Ray Charles.

FACT: He has never met Dick Van Dyke and is not related to him.
