HANNIBAL, Mo. — The second annual Chocolate Extravaganza will offer a decadent day of delicious chocolate treats March 10 in Hannibal’s historic downtown district.
The event kicks off noon Saturday and is sponsored by the not-for-profit Historic Hannibal Marketing Council as a fundraiser for downtown improvements, such as flowers and flower pots for Main Street.
Visitors can purchase a “Chocolate Passport” for the day, which includes certificates redeemable for five free gifts from 23 different businesses. The gifts include such decadent items as chocolate jewelry, Black Forest Brownie Bites, a glass of chocolate wine, a Cherry Bomb ice cream treat or a chocolate paraffin hand dip with a complimentary chocolate martini.
The passport also includes 25 coupons for savings on things such as food, clothing, lodging and entertainment for that day and evening.
Passports can be purchased at many downtown merchants such as Labinnah Bistro, the Badger Cheese Haus, the Main Street Kitchen store, Ava Goldworks and 10 other businesses.
