Art by Pat Kerns will be on display throughout July in the main lobby of the Blessing Hospital 11th Street Campus. The exhibit features oils, acrylics, powdered graphite, pencil and pastel works of everyday life subjects as well as nostalgic subject matter.
Kerns has received awards in a variety of competitions and exhibits, including John Wood Community College’s annual show, the Hannibal Originale exhibit, Raintree’s annual show, the Missouri Art Teachers exhibit, the Foundry (St. Charles, Mo.) exhibit, St. Louis Artists Guild show, Tri-State competition (Quincy), and Missouri State Fair Top 50.
She has a bachelor of science in education from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, and attended a teachers’ forum at the Chicago Art Institute and Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga. She also has attended a variety of workshops covering varying media, including paper pulp painting, acrylic painting and pastel and tempera.
Kerns is a former member of Raintree Art Guild and St. Louis Artists Guild. She is a member of Hannibal Art Club, Great River Artisans Group and Alliance Art Gallery in Hannibal.
